Can't recommend this one highly enough....what great lessons for our little ones! Our kids love looking at the illustrations and can't get enough. Great book for bedtime!
I have two sons (ages 8 and 11), and although they each could have read this book alone, we decided to read it out loud together! It not only taught them about our nation's history, but also how important certain character traits are in being successful. It gave us a chance to communicate about these subjects that may have otherwise not been discussed. This book is well written, and the illustrations are bright and eye catching! I truly recommend this one.
This is a great, great book for parents with young children. It helps teach, or potentially introduce, history to a younger generation. The artwork is great, and helps bring the book alive for them. But more importantly, the book helps to teach young children not only about a great historical moment, but the character traits that made that day successful. Its more than just reading about an event - but helping to teach young people what made other's successful, and why those traits are important for all of us as well.
